LUKAS ROUCKA

Lukas Roucka is a director and cinematographer, based in Austria with over ten years of experience in documentary and television production. His work focuses on emotional storytelling and strong visual language, with an emphasis on authenticity and human connection.
After completing five years of film education at the University of Applied Sciences in Austria and a semester abroad at California State University, Fullerton, he earned his Master’s degree in TV and Video Production in 2015 and founded his own production company that same year.
In the past years, Lukas has directed several prime-time documentaries for ORF 1, Puls 4, ATV, and JOYN, ranging from true-crime films to socially critical docs to documentaries about nature and the connection between humans and nature. His earlier work also includes a self-developed fictional series pilot produced during his Master’s program.
As a cinematographer, he has contributed to over fifty film-productions, which also shaped his language as a director. In corporate films, Lukas focuses on uncovering the essence of each brand and translating it into compelling visual stories.
He has collaborated with broadcasters such as ORF, ARTE, ZDF, ServusTV, Joyn, ATV and Puls 4, and worked with renowned brands.
